The Aftermarket Service & Test Technician plays a pivotal role in upholding product performance and customer satisfaction. This dual-focused position delivers expert technical support maintenance and repair services for fielded products while also assisting the Test department to ensure heating ventilation air conditioning and refrigeration systems operate safely and efficiently.
This is a 1st shift position located at our facility in Batavia OH.
You will
Aftermarket Service:
- Diagnose and Repair: Troubleshoot and resolve product issues on-site or at service facilities
- Customer Support: Provide technical assistance via phone email or in-person consultations
- Installation & Maintenance: Install new equipment and perform routine maintenance to maximize performance
- User Training: Instruct customers on the correct operation and upkeep of equipment
- Warranty Handling: Process warranty claims and ensure timely repairs or replacements
- Parts Inventory Management: Oversee spare parts and tool inventory
- Quality Assurance: Ensure service activities align with internal quality standards and safety regulations
- Product Feedback: Report recurring product issues to engineering for design improvement
Test Technician Support:
- Install and configure HVAC and refrigeration systems for testing including chillers compressors evaporators and control systems.
- Interpret technical drawings wiring diagrams and P&ID schematics to set up accurate test environments.
- Conduct performance tests on systems under various load conditions to evaluate efficiency cooling capacity and reliability.
- Monitor and record data using calibrated instrumentation such as pressure gauges thermocouples flow meters and data acquisition systems.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot system malfunctions or deviations from expected performance.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards environmental regulations and customer specifications.
- Maintain test equipment and ensure all tools and instruments are properly calibrated and functioning.
- Document test procedures and results in detailed reports for engineering and quality assurance teams.
- Collaborate with engineers to refine test protocols and suggest design improvements based on test outcomes.
What you bring
- Technical expertise in mechanical electrical and HVAC systems
- Extensive knowledge of HVAC/R and electrical troubleshooting
- Understanding of the refrigeration cycle and how to properly adjust valves and controls
- Knowledge of fluid flow air flow psychometrics saturation subcooling superheat thermodynamic principles and property tables
- Prior experience working with Low and High Voltage 3 Phase Energy from 208 V to 600 V
- Current Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) certification for handling refrigerants
- Ohms law knowledge
- The ability to read and interpret technical manuals schematics and service documentation
- Strong communication skills to interact with customers and explain technical issues clearly
- Customer service orientation with a focus on resolving issues efficiently and professionally
- Familiarity with tools and software used in service diagnostics and reporting
- Valid drivers license and US passport and the willingness to travel domestically and internationally for on-site service calls
