Flight tests is an engineering department allowing you to use your technical skills of analysis and your A/C knowledge but in an environment where you also include concrete activities on Aircraft or test means on a daily basis.
Team activity
Within the Flight and Integration Test centre the Acoustic Testing team (IVVGO) is in charge of any kind of acoustic testing activities in any of environments (inside or outside A/C ground or flight test and also laboratory) and for any type of aircraft (development production and in-service).
In addition the team is progressing on its vision for a systematic integrated and continuous measurements allowing to improve our acoustic models and knowledge of the fleet and moving to anticipation of issues. This is giving us the opportunity to work on new innovative test means and software development like data science used for post processing.
Acoustics and aircraft noise are key areas of concern and development for Airbus in the frame of sustainable development and purpose.
Description of the job
You will design and perform acoustics tests. The topics range from R&T topics to production and manufacturing and the test benches address measurements in the lab or directly on the aircraft.
You will also be involved in the team improvements by supporting the development of new test means or developing innovative signal post-processing methods to address massive amounts of data and to create statistical analyses and models from it.
You will be involved in the following type of tests:
Psycho & audio tests
External noise monitoring and certification
Treatment characteristization and modal detection
Acoustic Wind Tunnel test
Acoustic Flight Test
Troubleshooting of Vibration and Noise for production/in service aircraft
You will also be involved in the team improvements by supporting the development of new test means or developing innovative signal post-processing methods and data analytics technics to address massive amounts of data and to create statistical analyses and models from it.
This role will involve travels for business and as such you must be able to travel accordingly.
Tasks & accountabilities
Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:
Designing test procedures including materials and methods for acoustic testing activities
Installation of those test means in the Aircraft and follow-up from instrumentation validation to data validation
Participation of dedicated flights
Analysis of noise recording and creation of associated reports (signal processing techniques)
Improvement projects on Process Methods and Tools for Interior Noise and Speech Intelligibility tests.
Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:
Designing test procedures including materials and methods for acoustic testing activities
Installation of those test means and follow-up from instrumentation validation to data validation
Run of tests
Post processing data validation and creation of associated reports (signal processing techniques)
Data analytics (statistical analysis & correlation) and automation
Required skills
You will have the following skills and experience:
Educated to Masters degree level in Acoustics with a focus on experimentation
Advanced knowledge/experience in the domain of signal and data processing
Knowledge on acoustics instrumentation (microphones acquisition system)
Experience in software development (Python) is a plus
Advanced level of English
