Job Description

Toast is driven by building the all-in-one restaurant platform that helps restaurants operate their business increase sales engage guests and keep employees happy.

The Strategic Finance team is responsible for providing data-driven insights to inform strategic financial and operational decision-making across the company. This Senior Associate will analyze influence and present key Operating & Financial metrics to Go-To-Market (GTM) Finance and Business leaders manage the Sales and Marketing budget and related metrics and take on high-profile strategic projects that will inform our long-term GTM strategy. This role requires collaboration across our Finance & Strategy team and comes with high visibility to GTM business partners.

About this roll* (Responsibilities)

  • Serve as a strategic thought partner to Finance and GTM leaders helping to guide investment and resourcing decisions in a fast-paced environment
  • Deliver monthly/quarterly quantitative and qualitative analysis of financial results including variances to plan/forecast ensuring key issues risks and business drivers are understood and highlighted proactively identifying trends and opportunities
  • Drive strategic initiatives through a combination of business partnering analytical insight and project management
  • Support the annual planning and long-range planning processes for Sales and Marketing incorporating a deep understanding of quota carrying headcount ratios key metrics org structures and overall GTM strategy
  • Build and improve upon complex financial models to meet the needs of a rapidly scaling business and GTM organization
  • Collaborate across multiple levels of the organization by building strong cross-functional relationships and developing a deep understanding of Toasts business model including unit economics competitive landscape and internal processe

Do you have the right ingredients* (Requirements)

  • Bachelors degree in Finance Accounting Economics or related field
  • 5 years experience in Strategic Finance or FP&A Big 4 accounting accounting at a public company investment banking or consulting
  • Experience with financial modeling and analytical mindset
  • Positive attitude with high aptitude to learn new things quickly. Team player eager to further develop and grow with us
  • Demonstrate intellectual curiosity problem-solving skills and hunger to continually up-level current approaches and processes
  • Strong work ethic reliability and attention to detail - get it done attitude
  • Effective communication and project management skills; highly organized independent and self-motivated with ability to and present to all levels of management
  • Highly adept in Excel and Google Workspace

  • Public company experience
  • SaaS or Fintech industry experience
  • Working knowledge of Adaptive SQL Netsuite Salesforce Hyperion Anaplan or other planning tools
