Location: Sioux Lookout ON
Salary Range: $56000 - $64000 per year (commensurate with experience and education)
Job Summary & Responsibilities:
The HR Generalist plays a key role in supporting the organizations workforce through comprehensive HR services including recruitment onboarding policy administration health and safety compliance and employee relations. Reporting to the Director of Human Resources the HR Generalist is both a strategic and hands-on contributor responsible for maintaining an effective engaged and compliant work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Support full-cycle recruitment process including job postings resume screening interviewing reference checks offer preparation
  • Manage end-to-end onboarding processes maintain employee files and employment records administer Group Benefits and RRSP enrollments/updates and support performance management and return-to-work plans.
  • Serve as the point of contact for employee inquiries and provide guidance on HR policies procedures and employment standards.
  • Assist with WSIB claims Employment Equity and Pay Equity programs and ensure accurate HR documentation and regulatory compliance.
  • Support the administration and communication of benefit programs and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Contribute to health & safety initiatives and maintain relevant records.
  • Work with employees and leadership to solve employee relations issues and concerns including conducting investigations managing conflict etc.
  • Support HR projects and process improvements under the guidance of the HR Director.
Qualifications:
  • Diploma/Degree in Human Resources Management or a related field (Industrial Relations/Psychology and/or Business Administration Finance or equivalent)
  • CHRP designation or working toward designation is considered an asset.
  • Minimum of 2 years HR generalist experience preferably in aviation healthcare or a regulated industry.
  • Solid understanding of employment standards occupational health & safety legislation and HR best practices.
  • Other related certifications in specialized areas of human resources are an asset.
  • Experience working with HRIS platforms (e.g. Humi or similar) and proficiency in MS Office Suite.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Detail-oriented organized and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Required to obtain and maintain satisfactory CPIC (Criminal Record Check).
  • Required to possess and maintain valid Class G drivers license with a clean driving record and access to private vehicle.
  • Must be willing to relocate to Sioux Lookout and travel from time to time to other base locations in St. Andrews Manitoba; Kitchener and Thunder Bay Ontario
