JOB SUMMARY

Kermans is currently seeking a full-time Field Inspector to join our team in the single-family homebuilding industry. Using their construction experience the Field Inspector is responsible for inspecting work on jobsites communicating adjustments and following through with updates and changes with builders and subcontractors. This position reports to the Field Operations Manager and works Monday to Friday hours at our Fishers IN location with daily travel to job sites. Company vehicle provided.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Complete pre and post inspections of job sites
  • Inspect products for warranty issues
  • Oversee subcontractor work and ensure quality installation
  • Complete production paperwork and write ups
  • Communicate adjustment needs on job sites
  • Communicate updates and changes with builders sub-contractors and internal team.
  • Follow and enforce all safety policies and procedures

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company guidelines policies and procedures and applicable laws. Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing hiring and training employees; planning assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Requirements

EDUCATION EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required.   • 2 years of construction experience related to installation or quality assurance
  • Previous work experience with flooring products and builder superintendents preferred
  • Previous work experience using Microsoft Office applications
  • Previous work experience using construction management software or application preferred
  • Must have a valid driver license and meet our minimum standards following a Motor Vehicle Record review at time of job offer and at regular intervals while employed
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds without restriction and on a regular basis
  • Ability to communicate in English both verbally and in writing for training and project updates and to independently handle external and internal requests
  • Math skills acquired through high school diploma or equivalent to record measurements calculate fractions and percentages convert square feet and square yards and understand basic financial transactions.

  • Must possess the ability to stand for long periods of time; to reach with hands and arms; to move among and between job sites; to sit stoop kneel and crouch; to lift and move up to 50 pounds unassisted on a regular basis; to see well enough to discern differences in quality of product and installation.
