Job Description

SUMMARY:

We are seeking an experienced OEM/OES Business Development Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving the sales of our products to OEM/OES customers. The OEM/OES Business Development Manager will work closely with our engineering product management and marketing teams to identify customer needs develop and present product solutions and negotiate contracts with customers. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills strong technical abilities and a proven track record in sales.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Develops a strong understanding of Walker Products and its processes and products including the key features and benefits of each.
  2. Works as key member of OEM/OES team.
  3. Identify and target potential OEM/OES customers and develop relationships with them.
  4. Sets sales direction and has experience in sales budgeting and forecasting.
  5. Collaborate with the product management team to develop existing products and new product solutions that meet customer requirements.
  6. Prepare and deliver technical presentations and product demonstrations to customers.
  7. Negotiate contracts with customers including pricing delivery and terms and conditions.
  8. Provide ongoing support to customers including technical assistance order management and problem resolution.
  9. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of customer interactions and sales activities in the CRM system.
  10. Analyzes marketing programs and adjusts strategy and tactics to increase effectiveness.
  11. Delivers sales presentations to key Customers engineering purchasing and management groups to improve the level of customer knowledge of Walker Products.
  12. Continuously identifies and manages NBO pipeline and communicates product solutions to meet customer needs and requirements using value based selling arguments.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Experience or knowledge of customer channels vehicle OEMs OES and Tier 1 suppliers.
  2. Ability to read analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals financial reports and legal documents.
  3. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers regulatory agencies or members of the business community.
  4. Ability to understand material index scrap index.
  5. Ability to work with Product Engineers.
  6. Ability to effectively present information to top management public groups and/or boards of directors
  7. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts interest commissions proportions percentages.
  8. Ability to define problems collect data establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  9. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  10. Because of the changing nature of our business this job description will inevitably change. The employee will from time to time be required to undertake other activities of a similar nature that fall within his/her capabilities as directed by management.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Bachelors from four-year college or university or four to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  2. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in OEM/OES sales or related field.
  3. Strong technical knowledge and understanding of Engine and Emission Management Sensor products and applications.
  4. Advanced use of Excel Access and other MSOffice products
  5. Experience in the automotive industry a plus
  6. Previous experience with vehicles and Emission Systems.
  7. Ability to work in a team environment.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Working conditions are normal for an office environment. May require lifting of up to 40 pounds.
