Technical Lead

Location: Chicago IL (Full-time On-site)

NativeMsg is the leading RCS Business Messaging experience and API platform enabling businesses to create send and optimize interactive text messaging experiences. We are transforming business communication by converting traditional SMS into rich interactive experiences that include images videos and interactive buttons all within the native messaging app.

The Opportunity

Were seeking a Technical Lead to drive the development of our RCS Business Messaging platform while leading our existing development team. This is a hands-on leadership role where youll architect scalable solutions integrate cutting-edge AI capabilities and ensure our cloud infrastructure supports millions of interactive messages daily. Youll be at the forefront of RCS technology innovation working with carrier messaging APIs building conversational AI experiences and creating the technical foundation for the next generation of business messaging.

What Youll Do

  • Platform Architecture & Development: Architect and develop our core RCS Business Messaging API and platform. You will ensure system scalability for high-volume messaging while optimizing for performance and reliability.
  • Cloud & Data Management: Lead the design of our GCP cloud infrastructure. You will architect robust database systems and design data pipelines for analytics and AI.
  • AI & Innovation: Build and integrate conversational AI capabilities chatbot logic and machine learning models to create intelligent messaging experiences.
  • Team Leadership & Vision: Manage and mentor the development team defining the technical roadmap and architectural vision. You will establish development best practices including code reviews and testing frameworks while recruiting and developing technical talent.

What Youll Bring

  • Technical Experience:
    • 5 years of enterprise development experience with expert-level proficiency in Java.
    • 3 years of hands-on experience designing scalable cloud infrastructure.
    • Extensive experience building RESTful APIs and high-throughput low-latency messaging systems.
    • Strong experience with database design optimization and management.
    • Experience with messaging APIs (RCS/SMS) or carrier integrations is preferred.
    • Hands-on experience building conversational AI interfaces and integrating ML models.
  • Leadership Experience:
    • 5 years of experience leading and mentoring development teams.
    • Proven ability to partner with cross-functional teams to deliver technical solutions.
    • Strong experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) and DevOps practices.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: $160K - $200K (based on experience and qualifications)
