A Brief Overview

Reporting to the Director Omnichannel Buying & Merchandising the Ecommerce Buyer is responsible for achieving the Direct to Consumer (DTC) sales growth margin and inventory turn targets across & 3rd Party Marketplaces. This position will assist in the execution of strategic vision with a progressive customer centric approach all while delivering on sales & profit objectives. This role requires the ability to leverage data to identify opportunities & develop product assortment strategies. The Buyer will partner closely with the Buying Manager in all aspects of buying process for ASICS digital channels. They will deliver insights & data to drive future product assortments & seasonal plans aligned with digital strategy & growth objectives. They will partner closely with cross functional partners in the direct-to-consumer team including buyers assistant buyers digital website teams planning allocation merchandising marketing & analytics to strengthen the best-in-class product on all digital channels and combine knowledge of marketplace trends with sales data to help identify incremental business opportunities. A successful candidate will make company first decisions develop self by participating in ongoing professional development & training. They will seek out innovative solutions to existing product customer and/or company challenges. Finally they will communicate with candor & value open debate to ensure the best ideas come to life and lastly drive strong communication and organizational relationships.



Leadership Responsibilities

What Youll Do

  • Build create & manage digital merchandise assortments to align with the market & consumer trends. Manage digital business to achieve profitability and key KPIs.
  • Constantly evaluate pricing and product inventory flow and deliveries across multiple sales channels to achieve sales inventory and margin targets. Closely partner with manager to proactively identify opportunities & execute price adjustments or website removals and challenge OTB metrics.
  • Execute monthly seasonal forecasting and monthly purchase order plans for designated footwear category.
  • Analyze business and sales trends utilizing existing and new selling reports and provide recommendations for business improvements and efficiencies.
  • Support alignment between full price and outlet buyers ecom buyers and DTC planners to ensure product segmentation and allocation between all direct to consumer channels. Partner with site merchandising email marketing and brand marketing to ensure successful product launches.
  • Execute seasonal markdowns & promotions as needed based on sales trend at SKU level.
  • Compile data and images as needed to develop seasonal strategies hindsight business reviews monthly and seasonal buy reviews and weekly sales recaps to share with cross functional teams.
  • Work with logistics team to track purchase orders to ensure monthly/seasonal product launches. Check new launches on & Marketplaces and partner with site-merchandising and marketplace teams for best-in class customer shopping experience.
  • Create purchase orders at size level to ensure adequate levels of inventory
  • Analyze retail market/competition. Perform competitive market research and comp store visit hindsight presentations.

How Youll Be Successful

  • Ability to effectively motivate engage and foster growth within direct reports.
  • Ability to hold themselves and direct reports accountable to a high standard of performance and results.
  • Digital/retail/Omnichannel buying and/or planning experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills & a solid knowledge of KPIs & retail math
  • Experience with systems similar to SAP BI systems preferred.
  • Strong Excel skills necessary
  • Excellent communication and organization skills
  • Self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency able to work both independently and on a team.
  • Ability to multitask be flexible and adaptable in a frequently changing and fast paced environment.
  • Knowledge & understanding of third-party marketplaces is a plus.


What Youll Need

  • Bachelors Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) or equivalent combination of education experience and training required
  • 0-2 years experience managing direct reports or equivalent training and experience
  • 3-5 years years experience in merchandising buying or retail planning/allocation in corporate retail environment including digital and/or Omnichannel retail required
  • Excellent communication organizational and follow-up skills. Ability to work independently prioritize work assigned and meet deadlines
  • Strong computer skills: Microsoft Office Suite (Excel is necessary) Experience with SAP preferred


SALARY / PAY RANGE: $77400 - $86000
