The Opportunity
This position works out of our Minnetonka MN location supporting our Electrophysiology Medical Device Abbotts Electrophysiology (EP) business were advancing the treatment of heart disease through breakthrough medical technologies in atrial fibrillation allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.
This leader is responsible for providing financial support and counsel to divisional senior finance and executive management in the following specific activities: financial planning and analysis Standard cost setting management financial reporting internal controls and asset management. Comprehensively oversee direct and coordinate all aspects of the global Divisions Financial Planning processes aligned with Abbott Corporate and Electrophysiology business requirements.
What Youll Work On
- Prepares Plan Latest Best Estimate (LBE) and Monthly reporting for the Minnetonka EP Operations group meeting timing and quality of presentations requirements facilitating management review and decision making while ensuring integrity of the data compliance with GAAP and Abbott operating policies.
- Leads the yearly allocation process for Site Operations support spending entailing working across Divisions to ensure proper approval and review of allocations.
- Prepares various management presentations financial analyses special projects and related consultation to senior management in planning and achieving short- and long-term financial objectives
- Reviews annual standard setting for the manufacturing site to ensure consistency and compliance with Abbott operating policies
- Monitors balance sheet accounts to ensure proper levels of accruals and accurate balances based on Abbott policies
- Develops system solutions and process improvement that meet planning and reporting requirements
- Lead and coach a team of financial professionals to ensure financial planning and analysis projects are conducted credibly and that recommendations and reports are accurate and timely.
- Recruit retain and develop finance team finance team members have the appropriate training and provide coaching and rotational opportunities to develop broad based financial management professionals to support their career goals and the business needs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in Business Finance Accounting or related field
- 5 years of leadership experience in finance in a manufacturing environment
- Cost accounting experience
- Led coached and developed a team
- Proficient with MS Office Suite (Excel PowerPoint and Word)
- Demonstrated experience working with financial system applications
- Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA CPA or CPA preferred
- Working knowledge of Hyperion Essbase and/or SAP
- Ability to multitask prioritize and meet deadlines in a timely manner
- Ability to work independently and with flexibility under uncertainty and changing priorities
- Strong results orientation and self-motivation with a proactive approach to understanding and meeting business needs
