The Human Resources & Payroll Assistant provides administrative support and project assistance to the Human Resources Department in areas such as HRIS recruiting benefits administration safety Workers Compensation and general HR operations ensuring compliance with local state and federal regulations while supporting high-quality HR services throughout the company. The Human Resources & Payroll Assistant also assists the Accounting Manager with accurate and timely completion of payroll processing functions.

STATUS: SCHEDULE: - Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm
RATE OF PAY: - $24.00 to $27.00 per hour/DOE

QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of: - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs including Word Excel and Outlook.
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of human resources and familiarity with federal and state labor and employment laws and regulations.
- Understanding of federal and state wage laws FLSA tax withholdings and payroll best practices.
Skills and Ability to: - Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in data entry payroll processing and recordkeeping.
- Highly organized and skilled in time management; able to prioritize tasks take initiative and consistently meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities in identifying and resolving discrepancies and improving processes.
- Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain payroll and HR policies and processes to employees at all levels.
- Proven ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain strict confidentiality at all times.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact professionally and effectively with employees at all levels.
- Demonstrate a high level of integrity discretion and accountability setting a positive example for coworkers and fostering a respectful and inclusive workplace culture.
- Consistently uphold and model the organizations values policies and professional standards in all interactions.
- Meet attendance requirements and deadlines with dependability and consistency.
Education and Experience: - High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Associates Degree in accounting or similar preferred.
- One year experience in office environment or Human Resources. Three years progressively responsible experience in Accounts Receivable/Payable.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Light Work:Exerting up to 20 pounds of force frequently and/or negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
This work requires the ability to sit for long periods of time. Must be able to lift and carry general office supplies and equipment. Position requires hand manipulative skills for word processing and writing and ability to hear verbal conversations over the phone and in person with background noise. Must be able to consistently identify objects and persons at distance and read fine print of various forms.
