Purpose:
Worley is seeking Principal Mechanical Design Engineer based in Markham Ontario with experience in Nuclear Power Plant Worley Canada East you will report to Manager of Mechanical and Piping Engineering Department and you will work in Nuclear Section under Nuclear Director of Engineering. You will work with Design Team Leads on various project and will work well with the rest of the project team and customer while upholding Worleys standards for safety and technical excellence.

Responsibilities:
- Principal level mechanical engineering design and analysis for nuclear projects ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Direct and oversee mechanical design efforts on nuclear projects with emphasis on refurbishment and upgrade scopes ensuring optimal performance and safety.
- Prepare review and approve detailed technical specifications calculations drawings and engineering documentation.
- Apply Engineering Change Control processes to manage design modifications with full regulatory traceability.
- Conduct complex engineering calculations and simulations to validate design solutions.
- Perform advanced pressure boundary stress analyses using ANSYS and piping stress analyses by AutoPIPE.
- Interpret and implement requirements under ASME Section III and CSA N285 standards in pressure boundary analysis with nuclear nature and ASME Sec VIII and CSA B51 in nonnuclear pressure boundaries.
- Familiar with other applicable Codes and standards related to the Canadian Nuclear Power Plants.
- Application of CSA N299 and CSA N286 in preparation of engineering documents.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure design integration schedule alignment and regulatory approvals.
- Provide guidance mentorship and technical oversight to junior engineers and design teams.
- Participate in regulatory audits client meetings and quality assurance activities.
- Participate in risk assessments design reviews and constructability evaluations.
What you will bring:
Technical and Industry Experience:
- Extensive mechanical design engineering experience in nuclear projects including refurbishment work for OPG and Bruce Power with deep knowledge of nuclear industry regulations and best practices.
- Deep proficiency in pressure boundary assessments and finite element analysis.
- Hands-on capability with ANSYS and AutoPIPE and other engineering software for complex mechanical evaluations.
- Proven success implementing ASME Codes and CSA Standards within nuclear and nonnuclear system designs.
- Strong leadership communication and problem-solving skills in high-stakes regulated environments.
- Commitment to design excellence safety compliance and client satisfaction.
- Advanced understanding of nuclear safety principles quality assurance and regulatory compliance.
- Ability to lead complex engineering projects and provide innovative solutions to technical challenges.
- Experience in stakeholder engagement project management and regulatory interactions.
- Demonstrated experience on Bruce Power and//or OPG refurbishment projects.
- Bruce Power and/or OPG active Security Clearance.
- Expertise in Engineering Change Control technical documentation and regulatory standards.
- Minimum 15 years of mechanical design experience in nuclear industries and refurbishment projects.
Education Qualifications Accreditation Training:
- Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering is required.
- Masters Degree preferred especially with coursework in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and related training.
- Completion of official training programs in ASME Section III and CSA N285 is considered a strong asset.
Required:
- Valid Professional Engineering (.) license in Ontario.
