Job Description
3 months contract with a local authority
Job Purpose
- The Reviews Officer is responsible for reducing the need for temporary accommodation and associated expenditure by conducting effective and timely reviews providing quality options prevention and relief advice and recording key data to support the submission to the Department for Communities and Local Government.
- Focus will be on clearing stage 2 complaints backlog
Key Duties/Accountabilities
- Conduct independent reviews of homeless decisions suitability of temporary accommodation offers and private sector offers to discharge duty part VI offers of accommodation and part VI assessment reviews in a timely manner.
- Contribute to the achievement of Housing and Housing Needs service plan priorities and objectives and meet key targets.
- Deliver early accurate and high-quality advice recognizing the critical impact of homelessness on customers.
- Maintain accurate record keeping and use of systems to report on individual service provision and overall homeless trends.
- Proactively manage casework and adhere to key deadlines for customer reviews and casework management.
- Answer members inquiries and draft responses to complaints/enquiries on individual cases as required.
- Provide statistical information on performance as requested.
- Ensure the council s policy in respect of the Homelessness Strategy TA Placement and Housing Allocations Scheme is carried out.
Essential Experience Required
- Experience in making homelessness decisions and decisions on part VI.
- Extensive experience working with people who are homeless at risk of homelessness in housing need and/or living in unsatisfactory housing.
- Experience providing an excellent level of customer care and service in a comparable customer service environment.
Essential Qualification Required
- General education qualification in the related field is essential.

- Working Hours: 36 hours per week
- Location: Lynton House 255-259 High Road Ilford Greater London IG1 1NY United Kingdom
- Basic DBS is required for this role.
- The role closes on 10th Aug 2025 apply ASAP.
