Join our team as a Visiting Officer and play a crucial role in providing a high-quality professional service across the Assessment Hub. This position involves a variety of tasks including inspecting properties conducting residency checks and assisting vulnerable customers without support. As a Visiting Officer you will need to produce detailed reports and follow standard procedures with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspecting empty or altered properties
- Conducting residency checks and assessment visits
- Assisting housebound or vulnerable customers without support
- Collecting income-related data and other council reductions
Requirements
- Experience in providing a visiting service
- Adaptability and willingness to work across different hubs
- Strong communication skills for explaining complex matters
- Good IT and technical skills
- Commitment to continuous professional development
Essential Knowledge:
- Understanding of collection income-related assessments and benefit services
- Knowledge of best practices in income collection and assessment within a local authority
- Familiarity with welfare benefits and value for money principles
Additional Information:
- Start date is flexible
- Enhanced DBS without barring list required
- Candidates must be car owners/drivers
