The Arizona Cotton Research and Protection Council (ACRPC) is an organization formally established by statute in 1984 to serve as a vehicle through which Arizona cotton growers could provide adequate funding for research and applied technology to address industry needs relating to pest control and crop production.
ACRPC provides maintains and monitors innovative technology and programs for the Arizona cotton industry. Through this agency the Arizona cotton industry will be provided with sustainable programs and technologies to eradicate control and manage cotton pests.

Job Summary:

The Arizona Cotton Research and Protection Council (ACRPC) invite applicants to apply for the Sales and Marketing Manager position. Under the direction of the Director and in consultation with the Arizona Cotton Research and Protection Council (ACRPC) the Sales and Marketing Manager provides project management and strategic communication planning for the engagement initiatives ensuring that all communications enhance and build the image of the ACRPC. Responsible for a wide range of activities for sales and marketing priorities including identifying specific communication goals and objectives. Develop strategic and imaginative marketing plans with the strategic planning officer of ACRPC. Manage and oversee the details of marketing projects from start to finish. Create marketing materials in a variety of medias. Conduct research and evaluation. Develop and maintain marketing and educational materials. Responsible for developing contracts and conducting a wholesale and retail sales program for products manufactured by ACRPC. This position will be responsible to manage lead and oversee the operations of Marketing and Sales and working with the ACRPC Marketing Team. Track market developments create strategies set up sales plans and maintain customer relations.


This position may offer the ability to work remotely within Arizona based upon the departments business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

All work including remote work should be performed within Arizona unless an exception is properly authorized in advance.

Job Duties:
  • Conducts outreach to both current and potential customers and distributors for the Councils aflatoxin program nationally and internationally. Developing and sustaining long-lasting relationships with customers and distributors. Maintain and collaborate on contract development and execution with knowledge of requirements.
  • Participates in direct sales outreach and promotional events plan promotional activities provides essential product support and travels to support the program goal. Contribute collaborative efforts and organize trade show and promotional exhibit participation with the director council council Marketing Team and council technician. Provide basic product information and support to customers and distributors.
  • Coordinate marketing design and content to generate digital and print advertising material. Develop a marketing and communications plan for the different crops and utilizes social media platforms.Collaborate with the Marketing Team on issues in the field and at trade shows if needed.
  • Maintain and update records or marketing metrics and results of past campaigns. Conduct marketing research and identify new opportunities for distributors and growers. Monitor and report marketing and sales weekly or as modified by the Director. Develop and track the department budget for sales and marketing.
  • Report to Arizona Cotton Research and Protection Council at the quarterly meetings. Meeting regularly with community groups organizations and other internal/external partners to coordinate services.
  • Provides leadership to subordinates; may also provide leadership to supervisors and/or professional staff. Develops departmental plans including business production operational and/or organizational consultation with the Director of the ACRPC Controls resources and policy formation in the area of responsibility. Decisions are guided by resource availability and function objective. Developing staff training and development plans.
  • Maintain and renew registrations and licenses for products manufactured by Arizona Cotton Research and Protection Council. Maintain and renew registrations and licenses for products manufactured by Arizona Cotton Research and Protection Council.
Knowledge Skills & Abilities (KSAs):
  • Knowledge of Internal and External communications and engagement strategies.
  • Knowledge of digital marketing management tools and systems such as Google Workspace and Adobe Creative Suite programs MS Office including Photoshop Illustrator and InDesign.
  • Knowledge of preparing and executing marketing plans. Editorial marks and style guides; and metrics and data/predictive analytics to support planning decision making and continuous improvement efforts. Review and evaluation tools and/or processes. Industrial and business practices; marketing and sales techniques; wholesale and retail sales practices.
  • Skill in effectively use appropriate software to develop creative content such as Adobe Creative applications. Coordinating design projects with multiple people and deliverable; providing creative direction at the concept stage of marketing projects; working under pressure managing more than one project at a time and meeting deadlines.
  • Skill in measuring success through data aggregation; producing statistical and other reports detail oriented. Oral and written communication skills necessary to develop presentations and instructional material; coordinating projects with professional personnel.
  • Skill in developing contracts and carry out an effective sales program.
  • Ability to Develop strong working relationships across the organization.
  • Ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment with a keen sense of urgency. Meet multiple deadlines with a tight turnaround. Problem-solve to identify appropriate analytical processes for addressing issues arrive at supportable recommendations build consensus and ensure successful implementation.
  • Ability to make informed answers and results in a focused and efficient manner; exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine action and be agile and make changes to plans as added information is learned and analyzed. communicate both orally and in writing at a high level. Read understand and interpret complex issues laws rules regulations and policies.

Pre-Employment Requirements:
  • Bachelors degree in Marketing Communications Journalism Multimedia Public Relations Business Agriculture or related field.
  • Three years of professional-level experience developing and executing creative design solutions for marketing campaigns sales training and/or education that meets the knowledge skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position.
  • Successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify) applicable to all newly hired State employees.
  • Successfully pass background and reference checks; employment is contingent upon completion of the above-mentioned process and the agencys ability to reasonably accommodate any restrictions.
  • Travel is required for State business. Employees who drive on state business must complete any required driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-I0-207.12.) AND having an acceptable driving record for the last 39 months is required including no DUI suspensions or revocations and less than 8 points on your license. A copy of your MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) is required at the time of your interview if an Out of State Drivers License was held within the last 39 months.
