St. Paul Academy and Summit School is seeking applicants for the position of Head Varsity Alpine Skiing Coach for the winter season.
About St. Paul Academy and Summit School:
St. Paul Academy and Summit School: St. Paul Academy and Summit School (SPA) is a coeducational non-sectarian college preparatory day school serving more than 920 students in kindergarten through grade 12. Our two campuses are located approximately a mile apart in St. Paul Minnesota serving Grades K-5 on our Goodrich Campus and Grades 6-12 on our Randolph Campus. SPA believes Athletics contributes to the overall educational experience of our students where lessons learned in sport are as valuable as those learned in the classroom. The Athletics program at SPA is one of the most successful in the Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL). SPA is ranked in the top 20 of all MSHSL schools in the number state for championships won. Our student athletes have been recognized as some of the top athletes in the state region and country. The womens soccer team has been in the state tournament each of the last three years and won the state championship in 2023. Additionally a number of former and current team members plan to play at the college level in the future.

Salary: $5000- $5500 based on qualifications and experience
Description:
The minimum time commitment includes potential weekday practice times after 3:00 p.m. and all meets. Weekends included as the schedule demands. Season begins November 2025 and continues through February 2026.
Qualifications/Requirements
Ability to communicate with High school-aged girls and boys as well as parents and Athletic Department Administration
Comprehensive knowledge of the sport of alpine skiing
Coaching and/or playing experience in alpine skiing
Experience/familiarity with rules and commitment to youth sports preferred
Willingness and ability to support the assistant coaches of the program and contribute to teams needs
Ability to fulfill MSHSL expectations and requirements as a Varsity head coach including all relevant training and learning modules.
CPR/AED Certification strongly preferred
Other duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Ensure the alpine skiing culture reflects the Spartan Way - Integrity Excellence and Passion and the student athletes reflect the values of SPA athletics.
Creating a positive environment that promotes team excellence - We Before Me
Work with the school administration as part of team and player development
Assist in creating well-organized and structured practices
Provides effective supervision and evaluation of all players
Create a rapport with the great community generating interest in the program
Be visible in the greater youth community
Show a willingness to create a compelling program where roles are clearly defined and opportunities are provided for all
Recognize contributions of all; impress upon the athletes and parents that their efforts are valued
Participate as a positive team member in the development and support of excellence within the Athletic Department.
Effective cross-cultural communication skills. Able to operate effectively in diverse environments and interact successfully with people from widely varying backgrounds in a friendly and professional manner.
