As a Production Lead Hand you will oversee your designated section of the production line to ensure the safe and efficient manufacture of solar panels. Responsibilities include supervising a small team of operators managing the placement and testing of electrical components cleaning finished products and/or loading raw materials into machinery. Training will occur on the Night Shift (Monday to Friday 10 PM - 6 AM) before transitioning to a 12-hour Pitman schedule (6 PM - 6 AM).
Details:
Ensure operational staff follow all safety protocols and operate equipment safely.
Report any safety concerns to the Shift Supervisor immediately.
Provide ongoing training and technical support to operational staff to ensure adherence to work instructions and best practices.
Notify the Shift Supervisor of any defective products or non-conforming behavior upon observation.
Perform quality checks as outlined by work instructions and production/quality leaders.
Maintain product traceability by using the Data Collection System and ensuring it remains functional.
Monitor and replenish raw materials necessary to meet the production schedule.
Address first-level maintenance issues with production equipment in collaboration with the Maintenance Technician.
Support the Maintenance Technician in resolving more complex equipment issues.
Conduct shift handovers by sharing details about problems encountered and solutions implemented.
Alert the Shift Supervisor to issues regarding production quality processes or personnel organization as they arise.
Suggest procedural and process improvements to the Shift Supervisor.
Fill in for operational staff during breaks or absences as needed.
Work overtime as required.
Promote safety quality and efficiency within the production environment.
Enhance staff technical knowledge equipment uptime and product quality.
Meet production targets and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Foster teamwork and collaboration.
Perform additional tasks as directed.
