Job Description

Possession of certificate having successfully completed approved basic peace officer training program or completion of 20 yrs. active duty as peace officer per Section 109.78(D) of Ohio revised code; valid drivers license. Probationary period is one year.

About the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities Tiffin Developmental Center

The Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD) is a trauma informed care offer a state-wide system of supportive services that focuson ensuring health and safety supporting access to community participation and increasing opportunities for meaningful employment. Tiffin Developmental Center is located in the northwest regionof Ohio and is home to both adults and youth with developmental disabilities.

Example duties of a Police Officer 2:

Non traditional law enforcement position - the focus is security and safety of the campus.

  • Conducting fire drills
  • Checking fire extinguishers and other safety equipment
  • Involvement in emergency preparedness initiatives
  • Inspecting buildings and fleet vehicles for safety concerns
  • Helping plan and participating in special events
  • Contact with local law enforcement for non resident related issues
