Job Title: Test Technician
Location: Redhill Surrey
Contract Type: Initial 3-Month Temporary Contract (Rolling depending on workload)
Salary: Equivalent toper annum (paid hourly based on a 34-hour week)
Hours:

  • Monday to Thursday: 07:30 14:30
  • Friday: 07:30 13:30

This business is renowned for producing high-reliability products for demanding industries with a strong focus on precision quality and innovation. Due to an increase in workload they are seeking a skilled Test Technician on a temporary basis with the potential to extend the contract depending on business needs.

Job Overview

The Test Technician will be responsible for inspecting and testing electronic PCBs and components ensuring all products meet stringent quality standards. This hands-on role is ideal for someone with strong electronics testing experience and a methodical detail-oriented approach.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform testing of electronic printed circuit boards (PCBs) and components to ensure compliance with specification and company standards.
  • Investigate technical issues and conduct root cause analysis on failed components.
  • Prepare calibrate and maintain test equipment to ensure operational accuracy.
  • Record and log test data precisely for traceability and quality assurance.
  • Produce detailed test reports outlining results and any identified faults.
  • Carry out visual inspections and functional tests of sub-assemblies and final assemblies.
  • Ensure MRP system is accurately updated with inspection and test information.
  • Support internal audits and identify areas for process improvement or risk reduction.
  • Keep the testing area clean safe and well-organised at all times.
  • Participate in both internal and external training aligned with the company skills matrix.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Experience in electronic testing ideally within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of testing procedures for PCBs and electronic assemblies.
  • Proficient in the use of multimeters oscilloscopes and other test equipment.
  • Able to interpret circuit diagrams and understand technical documentation.
  • Methodical approach with high attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working independently and in a small team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • IT literate with experience updating ERP/MRP systems preferred.
