Job Description

Position Overview

As a global leader in new energy vehicles and battery manufacturing BYD continues to deepen its presence in the European market and is committed to enhancing global operational efficiency. We are currently establishing a European Tax Compliance Center to centralize standardize and streamline tax filings across various European entities.

As a European Tax Specialist you will be responsible for managing the full tax filing processes for the Netherlands and Finland entities working with external consultants and internal business teams. You will gradually take over the local tax filing responsibilities to ensure tax compliance and support the stable growth of our operations in Europe.

Key Responsibilities

1. Tax Filing Management

  • Coordinate with external consultants to regularly collect and provide data required for tax filings in the Netherlands and Finland (including VAT corporate income tax Intrastat etc.); follow up on filing progress to ensure timely compliance.

  • Gradually develop a foundational understanding of Dutch and Finnish tax laws transitioning the filing process from external to in-house capabilities.

2. Business Collaboration & Communication

  • Work closely with internal business teams to stay up to date on operational developments (e.g. transaction models data changes) ensuring tax treatments align with real business scenarios.

  • Identify potential tax risks in business operations and provide compliance-oriented recommendations serving as an efficient communication bridge between tax and business functions.

3. Compliance Management & Reporting

  • Within six months summarize key tax regulations in the Netherlands and Finland that impact operations and compile written documentation.

  • Regularly conduct internal checks on data and processes to ensure compliant and risk-mitigated tax filings.

4. Other Tasks

  • Complete other assignments as directed by your immediate supervisor.

Requirements (Must-Have)

  • Bachelors degree or above in Finance Accounting Taxation Law Economics or related fields;

  • Fluency in both English and Chinese: capable of communicating with external consultants in English and coordinating efficiently with internal teams in Chinese;

  • Strong learning and summarizing skills: able to quickly understand the basic tax rules of the Netherlands and Finland and extract key points;

  • Responsible and detail-oriented with clear logic and strong ability to translate business needs into tax language; proactive communication and execution skills are essential.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with European tax filings particularly hands-on experience with Dutch or Finnish tax regulations;

  • Strong mathematical and logical thinking abilities with outstanding learning capacity;

  • Academic background or professional experience in taxation or finance is a plus.
