Job Description

Ravenswood School for Girls is a Uniting Church Prep to Year 12 day and boarding school for girls located on Sydneys North Shore. Ravenswood offers both the HSC and the IB Diploma Programme as well as the PYP in the Junior School. Ravenswood is seeking an exceptional and passionate educator to lead our Drama Department in the role of Head of Drama. This position is responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of the Drama curriculum across Years K - 12 with a particular focus on senior years including HSC Drama and International Baccalaureate (IB) Theatre in Years 11 and 12.

This is an exciting opportunity to shape and inspire creative expression and academic excellence in a vibrant department. The successful candidate will be a key driver in delivering high-quality curriculum coordinating major productions and co-curricular experiences and fostering a love of the performing arts in students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development delivery and ongoing improvement of the Drama curriculum.
  • Coordinate the administration of internal and external assessments for senior Drama students.
  • Teach a range of classes across Years 5 - 10 Drama IB Theatre and HSC Drama.
  • Oversee and direct annual Drama productions and other performance opportunities.
  • Provide leadership mentoring and professional support to a committed team of Drama educators.
  • Report to the Deputy Principal - Teaching and Learning.

To be successful in this role you will bring:

  • Extensive teaching experience particularly in senior Drama with a deep understanding of IB Theatre and HSC Drama.
  • Proven success in leading student achievement and engagement in Drama.
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • A collaborative and strategic leadership style with the ability to inspire and support a high-performing team.
  • A commitment to co-curricular excellence including the planning and direction of school productions and public performances.
