Job Description

We are seeking experienced and passionate Grade 2 Dietitians to provide inpatient and outpatient care interested in working with a varied caseload. We have two permanent part-time positions at Camberwell (0.8 FTE) and Hawthorn (0.4 FTE) and will consider two separate appointments based on applications and experience. The successful candidate will report to the Manager Speech Pathology & Dietetics Continuing Care and Support services (CCSS).

Join our interdisciplinary Speech Pathology and Dietetics team working in Rehabilitation in a role that exposes you to providing specialist therapeutic care in the private health sector as well as enabling you to contribute to service development of nutrition services. The varied caseload includes neurology orthopaedics oncology cardiac renal and respiratory patients at Camberwell as well as multi-trauma and concussion at Hawthorn.

You will make an impact by:

  • Promoting and providing dietetic and nutritional intervention across a range of inpatient wards and outpatient services
  • Well-developed expertise providing evidence-based treatment including assessment intervention discharge planning and risk management to patients and family/carers
  • Experience providing and developing appropriate nutrition education for groups
  • Working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality care using a patient-centred approach
  • Actively participating in quality activities ensuring opportunities for improvement are actively explored and best practice is achieved
  • Participating in team professional development
  • Demonstrating empathy and compassion and encourage patient and family members participation in all stages of care.

To be successful in the role will bring: 

  • Previous experience working in a hospital setting (minimum of 4 years)
  • Well-developed time management prioritisation and communication skills
  • The ability to work with key stakeholders to deliver excellent patient care and outcomes
  • A quality and risk focused approach to clinical practice patient care and decision making
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in computer skills using Word Excel and TEAMs and resource development

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor/Masters of Nutrition and Dietetics or equivalent degree
  • Eligible for full membership with Dietitians Australia (DA)
  • Eligible for the Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) Program with DA
