Team Overview:

The Data Center Infrastructure Construction team at Oracle Cloud Infrastructure is a dynamic group of professionals dedicated to delivering state-of-the-art data center facilities at scale and at pace. This team comprises experienced project managers commissioning experts and construction specialists who work collaboratively to ensure the successful execution of complex data center construction projects. They bring a wealth of expertise in project management technical design and on-site construction ensuring that our data centers meet the highest standards of quality efficiency and sustainability. By staying ahead of industry trends and incorporating innovative technologies this team plays a crucial role in supporting Oracle Cloud Infrastructures data needs and driving our growth and success

Note: This is a 24/7/365 position on-site in Abilene Texas and includes day/night shift weekend and holiday work with occasional travel based on business requirements. This position will also require consent to the processing of biometric data for identity verification and access control.

Required Skills:

  1. Strong knowledge of base building data center construction- civil structural architectural mechanical electrical controls and plumbing.
  2. Project management for startup and commissioning phases of major data center projects.
  3. Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address complex challenges in a fast-paced construction environment.
  4. Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of data center design construction and operational requirements with a focus on cutting-edge technologies and sustainability.
  5. Project Management: Proven expertise in managing large-scale data center construction projects from inception to completion ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
  6. Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead under pressure mentor and inspire a diverse team of project managers engineers and construction professionals.
  7. Budget Management: Proficiency in creating managing and optimizing project budgets to ensure cost-effective use of resources.
  8. Risk Management: Ability to identify potential risks and develop effective mitigation strategies to minimize impact on project timelines and costs.
  9. Vendor Management: Extensive experience in selecting negotiating and managing contracts with external vendors contractors and suppliers.
  10. Regulatory Compliance: In-depth knowledge of relevant regulations industry standards and organizational policies to ensure compliance in all construction activities.
  11. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement and clear project updates.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Construction Management Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in construction project management with a focus on data center or colocation infrastructure either for a general contractor colocation provider or hyperscaler.
  • Role is full-time onsite position in Abilene TX
  • Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes quality control and design coordination.
  • Excellent communication leadership and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  1. This role will focus on the base building and MEP infrastructure portions of the project. They will be required to coordinate with the DCIB teams that are executing the tenant fit out data hall white space projects separately.
  2. Project Oversight: Lead and manage the construction of data centers by colocation providers ensuring all projects are completed on time within budget and to the highest quality standards.
  3. Risk Evaluation: develop a deep understanding of the project to evaluate the risk profiles associated with timely delivery address gaps in risk identification and mitigation and inform the business of associated potential impacts.
  4. Risk Management: develop mitigation strategies for major project risks to ensure project success.
  5. Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact between the company and colocation providers facilitating clear and effective communication. Develop and maintain key relationships to effectively support internal and external stakeholders.
  6. Schedule Management: Develop and maintain detailed project schedules coordinating with colocation providers to ensure timely delivery of milestones.
  7. Tenant Fit Out Integration: Work closely throughout design construction and commissioning to fully coordinate and integrate the separate scope of tenant fit out projects with the DCIB teams leading these efforts.
  8. Quality Assurance: Implement and oversee quality control processes to ensure all construction activities meet design specifications and industry standards.
  9. Design Coordination: Collaborate with design teams to ensure that construction activities align with the approved design plans and specifications.
  10. Compliance: Ensure all construction activities comply with relevant regulations codes and standards.
  11. Provide ongoing colocation Provider evaluation input for continuous improvement
  12. Regular site walks to ensure schedule coordination and quality will be required throughout the life of the project on a regular basis.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $120100 to $251600 per annum. May be eligible for bonus equity and compensation deferral.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge skills experience market conditions and locations as well as reflect Oracles differing products industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
