As a Senior Manager of Software Engineering - Java / Data/ Automation/ AWS at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and Community Banking - Digital Technology team you will take on a leadership role by offering technical guidance and mentorship to various technical teams. You will also proactively identify the needs and potential dependencies of other functions within the firm.
Job responsibilities
- Provide overall direction oversight and coaching for a team of entry-level to mid-level software engineers that work on basic to moderately complex tasks
- Be accountable for decisions that influence teams resources budget tactical operations and the execution and implementation of processes and procedures
- Ensures successful collaboration across teams and stakeholders
- Identifies and mitigates issues to execute a book of work while escalating issues as necessary
- Provides input to leadership regarding budget approach and technical considerations to improve operational efficiencies and functionality for the team
- Creates a culture of diversity opportunity inclusion and respect for team members and prioritizes diverse representation
Required qualifications capabilities and skills
- Formal training or certification on Software Engineering concepts and 5 years applied addition 2 years of experience leading technologists to manage and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise.
- Experience leading teams of technologists
- Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills excellent communication and collaboration abilities and a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions that meets the business needs.
- Advanced in one or more programming languages frameworks and databases (i.e. Java Spring boot Spring MVC AWS Cloud Foundry Dockers Jenkins CI/CD Kafka NoSQL Cassandra Relational Databases in Oracle Rest API Shell Scripting HTML Splunk Dynatrace DataDog Wire mock Mockito)
- Strong understanding of cloud services with focus on AWS technologies
- Ability to guide and coach teams on approach to achieve goals aligned against a set of strategic initiatives
- Experience with hiring developing and recognizing talent
- Understand the software development lifecycle and agile methodologies
- In-depth knowledge of the services industry and their IT systems
- Practical cloud native experience
- Experience in Computer Science Engineering Mathematics or a related field and expertise in technology disciplines
Preferred qualifications capabilities and skills
- Experience working at code level
- Current in modern development trends and experimenting with emerging technologies (i.e. AI and Machine Learning)
- Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight
