Job Description
Turner Industries Group is looking for a Payroll Clerk-Timekeeper to join our team at our Pipe Fabrication Facility in Port Allen LA.
Work schedule is Monday-Friday with some weekends from time to time 7:30 am to 4:30 pm
Job Description: Compiles payroll data enters data and reconciles errors to maintain payroll records using a computer. Reviews hours/wages computed and corrects errors to ensure accuracy of payroll. Maintains records of hourly employee leave and attendance utilizing computerized spreadsheets and word processing applications. Performs other duties as assigned. Maintains a clean and safe work environment at all times.
Qualifications:
- Preferably 2 years of experience or equivalent combinations of experience training and/or education in Payroll
- Applicant MUST PASS MS Excel and Timekeeping Tests
- Post-offer Criminal background check
- Post-offer drug/alcohol screen
- Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Must be able to organize workload adapt quickly to change and deliver under the pressure of deadlines
- Must be self-directed and detail oriented
- Confidentiality is Manadatory
- Proficient in MS Excel
- Post-offer drug/alcohol screen Turner Industries Group Indoctrination and Job site orientation
- Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of such individual or others at the workplace
- Personal Protective Equipment (hearing protection safety glasses long sleeve shirt gloves steel toe boots etc.) required when in shop/yard areas.
Physical and Mental Involvement:
Employee may be required to do the following: reaching in all directions handling and manipulating objects and materials; standing; sitting; walking; seeing with or without correction; hearing with or without correction; following set procedures and standards; applying basic mathematical skills; planning work; comparing and understanding differences in the size shape and form of lines figures and objects; picturing and evaluating solid objects from drawings or diagrams using standards that can be measured or checked; following oral and/or written directions plans and blueprints; reading; writing; ability to recognize and report safety hazards.
Location: climate controlled office environment at fabrication facility shop walks may be possible
Mobility Barriers to Access Job Site: possible uneven ground level obstructed pathways
Climate/Environment Conditions at Job Site: predominately indoor climate exposure to various noise levels caused by tools machinery equipment etc. while in shop areas.
