Job Description

Job Summary
The Associate Athletic Trainer provides comprehensive healthcare services to student-athletes with a focus on injury prevention assessment treatment and rehabilitation. This role includes sport-specific coverage education and administrative duties and requires collaboration with medical and coaching staff to ensure the overall well-being and performance of student-athletes.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Provide athletic training coverage for assigned sport(s) including practices strength and conditioning sessions home events and travel to away competitions. Ensure athlete readiness through consistent presence and sport-specific care. Evaluate and manage athletic injuries and conditions including immediate care clinical assessment therapeutic treatment and development and implementation of individualized rehabilitation plans. Design and deliver injury prevention and wellness strategies including pre-participation exams movement screenings recovery protocols and athlete education on hydration nutrition and mental health awareness Communicate regularly with team physicians coaching staff strength and conditioning personnel and administrators to coordinate care determine participation status and manage return-to-play protocols. Document medical care accurately and in a timely manner including injury reports treatment notes rehabilitation updates and referrals in compliance with department NCAA and HIPAA standards. Provide emergency care and implement sport-specific emergency action plans serving as the first responder to acute injuries during practices and competitions. Oversee athletic training students including clinical supervision instruction and mentorship; serve as a Clinical Preceptor for the Athletic Training Education Program. Manage inventory supplies and equipment; assist with insurance documentation and ensure adherence to departmental policies and best practices. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Athletic Training or related field. BOC certification and state licensure (or eligibility). State of Texas Licensure Eligible Certified Athletic Trainer. CPR AED and First Aid Certifications. Experience in a collegiate athletics environment.

Preferred Qualifications
Masters Degree in Athletic Training Sports medicine or related discipline. At least two (2) years of supervisory experience. Experience working with NCAA D1 environment.

Work Schedule
Work on weekends and holidays flexible hours and scheduling travel with team indoor and outdoor facilities.
