You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailAs the Assistant Director of Intramural Sports you will be responsible for leading a dynamic team of professionals and students to offer high-quality and creative intramural sports programming. Your role is vital to a program that engages with 15% of the student population annually. This position is responsible for the overall administration of the intramural sports program including staff supervision program development safety and risk management and fiscal management.
This unique role supports the overall administration of traditional intramural leagues and tournaments as well as a growing portfolio of esports and gaming offerings including a dedicated esports lounge within the Bakke Recreation & Wellbeing Center.
The Assistant Director of Intramural Sports will serve as a key leader within the Programs Team reporting to the Associate Director of Programs. Responsibilities include holistic supervision of up to two professional staff members while providing indirect supervision of 150 student employees. The Assistant Director will be responsible for connecting the Intramural Sports department to the Rec Well strategic plan campus-wide initiatives and assessment to demonstrate belonging and student learning. Finally this person will ensure compliance with all relevant policies and procedures with a focus on providing a safe and inclusive Intramural Sports environment.

Compensation: Minimum $65000 ANNUAL (12 months)
Depending on qualifications the minimum salary for this position is $65000. The expected actual salary for this position ranges from $67000 to $73000 depending on experience and qualifications.
A minimum of two (2) years of professional experience in a collegiate or communication recreation setting. If applicable graduate assistantships are equivalent to one year of professional experience.
Demonstrated understanding of student development theory and practice.
Ability to work collaboratively with students colleagues and/or campus partners.
Demonstrated understanding of policy development and risk management.
Supervision of employees (students or professional staff)
A minimum of three (3) years of professional experience in a collegiate or communication recreation setting. If applicable graduate assistantships are equivalent to one year of professional experience.
Knowledge of esports or gaming programming.
Experience training officials in one or more of the following sports: basketball flag football ice hockey soccer or volleyball
Experience managing budgets and financial transactions.
Required:Bachelors Degree
Preferred:Masters Degree in recreation sports administration higher education or related field
