Job Summary:
This role is for a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in a long-term care facility. The CNA will provide direct patient care assist with activities of daily living and perform various clinical and clerical tasks under the supervision of a registered nurse. Previous travel experience is required and the candidate must obtain an Alaska CNA license within 72 hours of contract signing if they do not already possess one.
Location: Seward Alaska United States
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care including assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing dressing toileting and ambulation.
- Obtain and record vital signs weights and other patient data.
- Collect and process specimens (urine stool sputum).
- Assist with feeding and meal delivery.
- Perform basic clinical tasks such as incentive spirometry pulse oximetry and blood sugar checks (as permitted).
- Maintain and clean equipment.
- Assist in emergency situations.
- Perform clerical duties such as answering phones directing calls and data entry.
- Document patient care accurately.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team.
- Float within scope to meet facility needs.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license (or application submitted within 72 hours of contract signing).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Minimum of one year of experience in long-term care (LTC).
- Previous travel experience.
- Valid drivers license and proof of insurance (for use of provided vehicle).
- Personal vehicle insurance policy must include rental car coverage.

Special Considerations:
- This is a travel assignment requiring relocation.
- The facility provides a vehicle for the duration of the assignment.
- Shifts are 4x12 or 3x12 variable either days or nights depending on facility needs. There is no day/night rotation except for occasional urgent staffing needs.
- Guaranteed hours are 60 per two weeks with the possibility of one 12-hour shift cancellation per two weeks.
- On-call is not required.
- The candidates permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility.
- Time off is approved on an individual basis.
- Block scheduling is not accommodated.
Scheduling:
- 4x12 or 3x12 variable shifts (travelers choice).
- Shifts are either day or night dependent on facility needs at the time of the start date.
- No guaranteed shift rotation.
