About the role
As the Analytics Co-ordinator in the Data and Analytics team you support the team to engage with internal stakeholders and our clients to produce critical and valuable insights. Leveraging VMIAs unique position as the insurance and risk advisor for the state of Victoria the Analytics Co-ordinator will play a key role in supporting the team and VMIA identify opportunities to use data and information to enhance business outcomes.
This is an exciting opportunity to progressively learn with diverse technology platforms complete administrative analytics tasks and navigate through internal process and enquiries.
Key responsibilities
- Support our analysts to define and manage business requirements to deliver on agreed insights outputs.
- Provide support to the team as they build networks with internal and external stakeholders to draw intelligence from united data sources to elevate the value of our insights outputs.
- Undertake data entry reporting analysis and dashboard development to meet insights requirements.

- Support senior members of the team to create partnerships with external agencies to gather data negotiate data access and provide feedback on joint topics of interest.
Who you work with
- You engage with different stakeholders across the business to support and identify business objectives and eliciting insight needs
- You collaborate with the Data and Analytics team to identify possible insight solutions
- You partner with Project Managers for the coordination and allocation of project tasks and activities
- You liaise with business stakeholders for the establishment of strategic objectives
What we are looking for
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with customer service experience.
- Ability to build your skills in Excel or other analytic tools.
- Curiosity to strengthen your capability with multiple technology platforms such as SQL Snowflake and PowerBI.
- A willingness to explore innovative platforms including AI.
- Proficiency to build stakeholder engagement in supporting critical stakeholders in challenging environments.
- Passionate about working with other team members in defining insight requirements that deliver value
- Understanding of working with data and analytical methods and the ways they can deliver critical insights to achieve strategic value.
Qualifications
- Hold a tertiary qualification in Business Commerce Data Analytics or Information Management or relevant discipline.
- Completed or undergoing further training Agile and Stakeholder Management.

Salary Information
At VMIA we offer competitive salaries based on the roles classification and your skills and experience. Typically new employees start at the minimum of the salary range however consideration may be given to starting above the minimum of the band should you demonstrate extensive experience in a similar role or possess unique and desirable skills and capabilities required to perform the role.
