Louisiana Economic Development (LED) is seeking an IT Technical Engineer to join our team! The IT Technical Engineer (Network) provides network administration and architecture support delivery of high-quality technical services infrastructure planning and operational support for Louisiana Economic Development. To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and lift up to 15 pounds. Seven years of experience in information technology; OR
Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus five years of experience in information technology; OR
An associates degree in information technology plus five years of experience in information technology; OR
A bachelors degree plus five years of experience in information technology; OR
A bachelors degree with twenty-four semester hours in an information technology computer science engineering mathematics or business analytics field plus four years of experience in information technology; OR
A masters degree plus four years of experience in information technology.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.
NOTE:
A certification in an approved area may be substituted for the education and/or experience requirements at the time of hire or promotion provided the appointment is made from a Certificate of Eligibles.

Job Duties:
Designs implements and maintains LAN/WAN network infrastructure with a focus on scalability security and performance Installs and configures network hardware such as routers switches firewalls and load balancers Monitors network performance and troubleshoots connectivity bandwidth and security issues Performs routine maintenance updates and upgrades on network systems Implements security measures such as access controls IDS/IPS and encryption protocols Coordinates with vendors on technical issues and contract management Collaborates with other IT staff to support seamless integration across systems Provides technical consultation and recommendations for system integrations and software solutions Participates in the development and testing of disaster recovery and continuity plans Assists in infrastructure planning risk assessment and compliance with IT standards Prepares and maintains technical documentation and reports Attends trainings and contributes to strategic IT planning aligned with agency goals
