About the position
The Senior Research Contracts Officer is a key member of the Research and Industry Agreements Team responsible for providing high-quality contractual and client support across a broad range of research and consultancy activities.
This role manages the drafting review negotiation and execution of agreements with external funders collaborators and industry partners. It plays an important part in supporting the full lifecycle of research and consulting projectsfrom project establishment and contract finalisation through to milestone monitoring variations and project closure.
The Senior Research Contracts Officer also supports the preparation and submission of tenders quotes and funding proposals. Acting as a trusted advisor the role provides expert guidance to researchers and staff across the Research and Industry Engagement portfolio ensuring compliance with university policies funding requirements and legal obligations.
The role would suit applicants with a range of experience including research grant management business development or legal/contracting.
Skills and Experience
To be considered for this position you will have;
An undergraduate degree in any area relevant to the position with at least 4 years subsequent experience; or extensive experience and management expertise; or an equivalent alternate combination of relevant knowledge training and/or experience.
Demonstrated experience with contract negotiations developing and managing research agreements with a range of clients and partners.
Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills with the capacity to work collaboratively and cooperatively in small teams.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills including a demonstrated ability to effectively synthesise material and present data and complex information in a range of formats.
