Overview Energy is building a mission-driven team committed to delivering space-based solar power to the world. We uniquely operate at the intersection of space and clean energy. We are based in the DC area backed by world-class investors and are operating in stealth mode.
This role leads the end-to-end development of satellite payload electrical hardware including avionics and electrical power systems (EPS) covering all phases from initial concept and design to testing qualification production and operational support. As part of the space development team you will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary engineers and take part in integrated testing activities. We seek candidates enthusiastic about spacecraft electrical hardware design who are eager to grow and adapt in a dynamic fast-paced setting.
Responsibilities:
Lead design and development of satellite avionics and electrical subsystems from concept to production and operations
Manage schedules to ensure on-time hardware delivery
Develop technical roadmaps and propose future improvements
Ensure compliance with industry standards and project requirements
Support process improvements to enhance workflow and communication
Requirements:
Bachelors degree in electrical computer engineering aerospace or a related engineering discipline
Minimum of 8 years of experience
Proven leadership in managing avionics projects within satellite development initiatives
Strong expertise in electronic principles and electrical systems including power electronics communication interfaces (such as RS-422) signal integrity and grounding techniques
Skilled in using standard electronic lab instruments such as soldering equipment power supplies oscilloscopes multimeters.
Demonstrated proficiency in applying core electrical circuit design concepts with both discrete and integrated components to deliver production-ready solutions that fulfill specified requirements
In-depth knowledge of space environment factors such as radiation tolerance critical for designing electronics intended for use in orbit
Hands-on experience with the complete electronic product development lifecycle encompassing schematic design PCBA layout analysis technical reviews documentation procurement design verification testing qualification and transition to production
Experience using Atlassians Jira and Confluence
