Tessera is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Logistics Manager to lead inventory and procurement operations at the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA). This role is critical to ensuring production success regulatory compliance and cost-effective material management. Productivity workplace safety customer satisfaction and team success depend on this leadership role. Success will be driven by Tesseras leadership competencies: Mission and Values Safety Leadership Operations Excellence Customer Service and Servant Leadership.
Typical duties include but are not limited to:
Core Leadership Responsibilities:
- Develop a strong understanding of AbilityOne and SourceAmerica programs.
- Uphold and embody Tesseras core values.
- Align team goals with Tesseras value proposition ensuring highly engaged employees contribute to customer satisfaction.
- Identify and mitigate safety hazards on job sites through effective risk controls and utilize Activity Hazard Analysis (AHA).
- Conduct root cause analyses to promote a safe working environment and maintain adherence to Tesseras Accident Reporting process.
- Foster positive client interactions using effective interpersonal skills demonstrating respect empathy and responsiveness.
Inventory & Procurement Management:
- Optimize inventory across storerooms and service vans.
- Lead procurement of materials services and subcontracts.
- Ensure compliance with FAR/DFAR and internal policies.
Team Leadership & Training:
- Supervise and mentor logistics personnel including warehouse and procurement staff.
- Provide guidance to shop leads and maintenance teams.
Process Improvement & Analytics:
- Leverage BI dashboards and Maximo systems to analyze performance.
- Streamline operations and support reporting.
- Drive automation in inventory and procurement processes.
Operational Oversight:
- Assign and track employee work.
- Monitor safety and conduct.
- Manage timekeeping and conduct performance reviews and disciplinary actions.
Compliance & Safety:
- Conduct safety meetings maintain accountability for government assets and ensure secure facility operations. Serve as a backup driver for material deliveries when needed.
Qualifications:
- Education: Associate degree in Logistics or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
- Experience: 58 years in supply chain management preferably within facilities maintenance or a related industry
- Certifications (Preferred): Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) Certified Maintenance Manager (CMM)
- Technical Proficiency: Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook Word Excel) Maximo logistics applications Business Intelligence (BI) dashboards and reporting tools
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing demands
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication
- Comfortable working with individuals from diverse backgrounds and with disabilities
- Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to support across functions
Physical Requirements:

- May be required to reach kneel walk stand and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.
- Work may require repetitive motion reaching lifting kneeling and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time climbing in and out of a vehicle and up and down stairs may also be required.
- Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.
