Summary Statement
The Department of Transporation Maintenance and Operations is looking for people to helpwith snow and ice removal for the 2025/2026 winter season. Positions available are Non-CDLEquipment Operator (operation of trucks under 26000 GVWR for clearing roads loaders formaterial supply etc.) and CDL Equipment Operator. Employees must have avalid CDL and medical card with expiration date of March 31 2026 or later when applying for theCDL Equipment Operator.
Job Requirements
JOB REQUIREMENTS for Equipment Operator/CDL Equipment Operator
1. Must be 18 years of age or older.
2. Possession of a valid drivers license (not suspended revoked or cancelled or disqualified from driving).
3. Knowledge or experience with snow and ice control.
Additional Posting Information
This is a Casual/Seasonal position which is a non-pension eligible position without healthcare and/or other benefits.
Positions are located in New Castle and Kent Counties.
Central District (all of Kent County)
Canal District (Kent County line to south of I-95 in New Castle County)
North District (North of I-95 to Pennsylvania line)
Conditions of Hire
Pre-employment Drug Testing: Upon a conditional offer you must undergo pre-employment drug testing as part of the hiring process.
DelDOT Medical Exam: Applicants who meet thejob requirementsfor the position and who are made a conditional offer of employment shall be required to meet the physical qualifications and examination requirements of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration regulations to hold a commercial drivers license unless they are approved for either an Intra-State CDL Waiver of a Federal Waiver or addition applicants must not have incurred four or more serious traffic violations during the previousthree years as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Code. The Department of Transportation will obtain driving record information maintained by the Division of Motor Vehicles for the precedingthree year period.
As a condition ofhire you must possess a valid drivers license (not suspended revoked or cancelled or disqualified from driving).
Criminal background check:A satisfactory criminal background check is required as a condition of hire. The recruiting agency may require the applicant to pay for the criminal background check as part of the conditional offer of hire.
As a condition of hire you must possess a valid CDL Class A or B drivers license (not suspended revoked or cancelled or disqualified from driving).
