Job Description
Title: Assistant Mens Basketball Coach
Job Summary
Jackson State Community College is seeking qualified candidates for the Assistant Mens Basketball Coach Position. This position will assist the Head Coach with the organizing planning and coaching of the JSCC Mens Basketball Team.
Job Duties
- Instruct & teach the fundamentals of basketball technique and strategy
- Assist with the recruitment of student-athletes
- Travel planning and coordination
- Transportation of student-athletes as necessary
- Equipment maintenance
- Facilities maintenance
- Coaching
- Possessing the technical knowledge and teaching skills to prepare basketball student-athletes for competitions
- Recruit prospective student-athletes to participate in basketball
- Ensure compliance with both national and collegiate policies
- Other duties as assigned by the Head Coach
Minimum Qualifications
Associate degree from an accredited college or university
Prior coaching experience
A commitment to knowing and complying with NJCAA TCCAA and institutional rules.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelors degree
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Ability to work with a diverse population
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
Knowledge of intercollegiate sports operations
Ability to travel extensively during the recruiting process
Ability to work in a highly dynamic and diverse university setting

Pay Rate:$15.00/hour
