Job Description

Title: Deputy Clerk Dispositions (Administrative)

Job Duties

This position will provide support for preparation and release of opinions and orders of the Court. This position will also draft general office memoranda and correspondence. This position will be responsible for the input of case decision information on the Courts case management system. This position will be responsible for posting the Courts opinions on the Courts website.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Provides support for preparation of the Courts dispositional orders.
  • Provides support for preparation of the Courts opinions.
  • Drafts general office memoranda and correspondence using Microsoft Word Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Outlook.
  • Receives and transmits word processor files using a network bulletin board.
  • Posts the Courts opinions on the Courts website.
  • Prints and distributes opinions and orders to litigants trial courts and others in both digital and paper formats.
  • Enters data in the Courts case management system.
  • Monitors the dispositions email system.
  • Maintains Courts index of unpublished opinions with summaries for Courts index.
  • Serves as contact person for publisher or other subscribers regarding any questions on published opinions prepares letters for publisher/subscribers regarding any corrections to opinions or any subsequent orders entered by Court and prepares letters for publisher/subscribers regarding any changes in composition of Court.
  • Tracks mandates for certification and prepares all correspondence related to mandates and prepares any correspondence related to bills of costs reviews bills of cost and/or any objections and prepares orders to accompany mandate and itemized statement of costs.
  • Prepares orders for cases in which the Supreme Court reverses or amends any order or opinion of this Court.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Clerk.

Minimum Qualifications/Experience

Applicants must have a four-year college degree or at least ten years of appellate court experience. Experience working in a court or law office is required. Applicants must possess an excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word Microsoft Excel Microsoft Outlook Adobe and related computer programs. Applicants must have experience dealing with a high volume of work under time constraints as well as be able to multi-task. Applicants work history should include working well with colleagues and the public. The best candidates will have a background of prompt and accurate completion of assignments will be capable of prioritizing numerous tasks are reliable organized detail-oriented and conscientious.
