This is a dual-role position with Responsibilities & Requirements for each Role. Training for this position will be in Myrtle Beach; therefore travel will be expected.


Medical Assistant Responsibilities: (Included but not limited to)

Assisting all Doctors/Nurses/Reps/Coordinators/Managers in support of delivering expert medical care to our patients

Direct interaction with patients (Greeting/Collecting intake info/Setting up Exam Rooms/Phone Calls etc.)

Other Day-to-day activities include fax correspondence point-of-care testing preparing/assisting for surgical procedures

Deliver our mission of bringing state-of-the-art expertise and patient care to our clientele

Histotechnologist Responsibilities: (Included but not limited to)

Perform Mohs lab procedures outlined in procedure manual working in direct contact with Mohs Surgeon. Other Responsibilities include:

Completing minimum 10 Mohs cases a day with satisfactory quality

Overseeing all patient logs and maintaining CLIA requirements

Perform technical histology tasks and other procedures

Provide equipment preventive maintenance quality control inventory & supply ordering data gathering/reports slide and block filing/retrieval

Ability to troubleshoot stainer cryostat and other instruments

Knowledge of reagent use storage and safe handling as well as lab standards by OSHA and CLIA

Performs daily cleaning of lab and equipment

Requirements of the Medical Assistant:

Completion of a technical/vocational training school program with either CMA AAMA RMA or CCMA Medical Assistant certification -OR- Emergency Medical Technician certification; as well as a high school diploma or equivalent preferred

BLS Healthcare Provider CPR certification

Medical Assistant experience or the equivalent thereof in a high-volume medical setting with the ability to read write and interpret medical terminology

Scheduling flexibility to be able work morning/afternoon/evening hours four to five days per week as needed

Demonstrated ability and strong commitment to exceptional patient care and customer service principles

Positive and energetic attitude which inspires other team members

Excellent organizational and time-management skills with an ability to remain focused under pressure

Aptitude to communicate effectively balance multiple tasks set priorities and solve problems independently or in a group.

Technology proficiency is critical including previous EMR/EHR experience as well as working knowledge of Microsoft software products such as Word and Outlook

Scribe/Document for physician while in the room


Requirements of the Histotechnologist:

Experience: At least one year

Performance Requirements: Ability to Gross Embed Cut Hand Stain H&E Coverslip.

Knowledge of IHC staining for Melanoma

Knowledge: Cytology microscopy Stain Protocol Anatomy Setting up Mohs lab Mohs mapping techniques CLIA regulations

Equipment Operated: Cryostat standard office equipment including computers fax machines copiers printers telephones etc.

This position will require the ability to work the following hours:

On Tuesday the individual hired will be working as a Histotechnologist with the hours of 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. working for Mohs.

Wednesday - Friday they will be working as a Medical Assistant in General Dermatology with the hours of 7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
