Job Description
The laboratory of Dr. Nathan Grainger is seeking a motivated undergraduate student. Our research investigates vascular biology and cardiac pacemaker cell physiology utilizing several technical approaches including calcium imaging electrophysiology and molecular and protein biology.
Responsibilities
General laboratory upkeep (including but not limited to cleaning benchtops equipment calibration cleaning glassware and other instruments data entry ordering supplies managing waste autoclaving glassware submitting biohazard waste and ensuring adequate stock of all necessary supplies).
Formulating physiological solutions and buffers for experiments.
Preparing enzymes for primary cell isolations from tissues.
Arranging culture plates for primary cell isolations.
Assisting with setting up a variety of experiments.
Required Qualifications
Candidate must be an undergraduate student at the University of Nevada Reno
Candidate must be highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
Candidate must be able to work with minimal supervision after the initial training period
Candidate must have professional communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Candidate has previous research experience in a wet lab setting
