Product Owner, VetConnect Plus

IDEXX is seeking an experienced Product Owner to support and drive features within our VetConnect PLUS platform. This critical role supports the delivery of user-centric innovations that enhance the diagnostic workflow for veterinarians and pet owners alike.

As Product Owner youll collaborate closely with the Results Services Product Manager and cross-functional teamsspanning software development UX design architecture and business stakeholdersto define and prioritize features that improve how diagnostic results are accessed and understood. Youll act as the voice of the customer translating business needs and user insights into clear actionable requirements that deliver measurable value.

This role requires a strong understanding of Agile methodologies excellent communication skills and a passion for delivering value through iterative product development. You will play a key role in ensuring that VetConnect PLUS continues to evolve as a platform that drives value for our customers and the business.

In this role you will

• Own and manage the product backlog for two results services development squads.
• Gather and refine requirements through collaboration with internal stakeholders and customers.
• Translate requirements into well-defined user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Prioritize development work based on customer value business goals and technical feasibility.
• Serve as the main liaison between development teams and business stakeholders to ensure alignment and shared understanding.
• Actively participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning daily stand-ups grooming sessions and sprint reviews.
• Monitor performance metrics and customer feedback to continuously refine backlog priorities.
• Partner with product marketing on go-to-market planning and communications.
• Contribute to market research and competitive analysis to inform product direction.
• Ensure features comply with relevant regulatory and quality standards.

What Youll Need to Succeed

• Bachelors degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• 3 years of experience as a Product Owner or similar role in a software development environment.
• Strong command of Agile/Scrum methodologies and product lifecycle best practices.
• Deep technical understanding of APIs microservices and backend systems with proven experience in API product management including versioning developer experience and lifecycle.
• Hands-on experience with data integration patterns including batch real-time ETL/ELT pipelines and third-party API integrations.
• Demonstrated ability to write clear actionable user stories technical acceptance criteria and product documentation for engineering teams.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with a collaborative mindset.
• Experience in diagnostics healthcare or veterinary technology is a plus.
• Proficiency with tools such as Jira and Confluence is highly desirable.
• Strong analytical skills and a customer-first user-centered mindset.
• Leadership qualities including strategic prioritization influencing without authority and outcome-driven decision-making.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic fast-paced environment.
