The Gatehouse Operator is responsible for monitoring all inbound and outbound traffic and operates all Gatehouse functions in a fast-paced environment. The Gatehouse Operator ensures the safety of employees equipment and property and keeps accurate logs of any visitor employee or contractor arrivals and departures. This role continuously supports Sofidels Employee Personal Practice Policy. Successful candidates will have a strong work ethic positive attitude excellent communication and teamwork skills.
This roles pay starts at $26 an hour. This role works a swinging 12-hour shift.
Job Responsibilities:
- Take live weights of inbound and outbound loads.
- Understand data flow through the supply chain and all associated database systems.
- Operate the scale system and effectively communicate with transportation drivers and management.
- Maintain accuracy of information in database systems including transportation processing billing and reporting.
- Transact frequently in SAP Transporeon and scaling software.
- Maintain electronic and physical copies of all bill of ladings and associated paperwork and transmit that data appropriately to all parties who require the documentation.
- Monitor and record all vehicles and pedestrians accessing property and issue guest badges as necessary.
- Secure the facility and notify appropriate parties of unsolicited property access.
- Serve as the first point of contact for all emergency situations on the property.
- Control all lanes of traffic with automatic gate arms.
- Monitor camera security system as needed.
- Provide and maintain excellent customer service and efficient communication.
- Maintain overall housekeeping and cleanliness of Gatehouse on a daily basis.
- Provide training as needed and take ownership of Gatehouse best practices and policies.
- Perform or assist with warehouse team and associated equipment to maintain workflow meet schedules and ensure quality requirements.
- Notify supervision of unusual equipment or operating problems as well as the need for additional material and supplies.
- Maintain a safe work area and comply with safety procedures and equipment operating rules keeping the work area clean and in an orderly condition.
- Participate in a variety of meetings and work groups to integrate activities communicate issues obtain approvals resolve problems and maintain specified levels of knowledge pertaining to new developments requirements policies and regulatory guidelines.

Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1 years of experience in a similar role.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Good time management planning and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and record-keeping software.
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug test.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required when in the plant and warehouse areas. PPE will include safety shoes eye and ear protection reflective vests and hairnets or hats along with any other necessary protection. Temperatures in the plant/warehouse can range a great deal from season to season. The employee will be exposed to considerable paper dust and employees will also be exposed to noise levels that will require hearing protection.
