Our challenge

We are seeking a passionate QA Automation Engineer to develop and refine automated testing frameworks that ensure application quality and reliability. This role involves collaborating closely with development teams enhancing automation pipelines and expanding technical skills in Python SQL and version control to support continuous delivery.

Additional Information*

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other accordance with law the base salary for this role if filled within Mississauga ON is CAD $105k CAD $110k/year & benefits (see below).

The Role

Responsibilities:

  • Develop maintain and enhance test automation frameworks and scripts.
  • Collaborate with development teams to understand application functionality and identify testing requirements.
  • Execute automated tests and report defects clearly to facilitate prompt resolution.
  • Support the creation of detailed test documentation and test plans.
  • Assist in building and optimizing automated pipelines for continuous integration and delivery.
  • Work closely with team members using Git for version control ensuring smooth collaboration on automation scripts and test cases.
  • Engage in troubleshooting automation issues and collaborating on solutions.

Requirements:

  • Proficient in Python scripting for test automation.
  • Proficiency with SQL for validating backend data and queries.
  • Exposure to version control systems particularly Git for collaboration and code management.
  • Understanding of table keys and data relationships to ensure comprehensive data validation.
  • Some experience with building or supporting automated CI/CD pipelines.
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work within a team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn new tools and techniques.
  • Eagerness to expand expertise in Python SQL and automation best practices.
  • Good to know Data warehouse concepts
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new tools and environments.
  • Prior experience with automation testing frameworks (e.g. Selenium PyTest).
  • Exposure to cloud-based testing environments.
  • Knowledge of testing tools for API validation (Postman REST-assured).

Preferred but not required:

  • Detail-oriented ability to turn deliverables around quickly with a high degree of accuracy
  • Strong analytical skills ability to interpret business requirements and produce functional and technical design documents.
  • Good time management skills Ability to prioritize and multi-task handling multiple efforts at once.
  • Strong desire to understand and learn domain.
  • Experience in a financial services/banking industry
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; to be flexible and learn quickly.
  • Ability to multi-task with attention to detail/ prioritize tasks.
