Job Description

The successful candidate will plan/teach four sections of English and work collaboratively with members of the English Department to support student learning and growth. Under the general supervision of the English Department Chair this teacher will be responsible for advancing students critical reading thinking and writing skills and guide their inquiry of diverse literary artifacts. As a Needham High School educator this teacher will work collaboratively to integrate the attributes skills and knowledge made explicit in the Portrait of a Needham Graduate emphasizing the preparation of students to become socially and culturally responsive contributors.

A minimum of a Bachelors degree is required; a Masters degree is preferred. Holds a Massachusetts Teaching License in English level 8-12.Candidates should possess strong communication and interpersonal skills have experience working with and/or teaching high school students and understand the diverse needs of students at this age. Additionally candidates who have a collaborative work ethic training/experience in the use of instructional technology a commitment to inclusive pedagogy and the potential to contribute to student life beyond the classroom are strongly encouraged to apply.
