Office of Mineral Resources Mineral Income Division
The Mineral Income Division works closely with the State Mineral and Energy Boards (Board) audit section. This Division performs collection and accounting of revenue due the State from mineral leasing activity and production on State-owned lands and water bottoms on behalf of the Board.
To ensure that all revenues are properly classified the Division enters the payor information on new and existing LUW codes (Lease Unit Well) into the SONRIS Program. The Division also generates and processes Payor Registers which are mailed to the various payors for verification of State Decimals.
This Auditor position is located in the Mineral Income Division within the Office of Mineral Resources in Baton Rouge LA. The incumbent of this position is responsible for the organization assignment review and/or performance of tasks relative to auditing revenue received from the states proprietary interest in minerals. Work is performed in accordance with the standards and procedures of the Council of Petroleum Accountants Societies (COPAS); generally accepted auditing principles and techniques; policies and procedures of the State Mineral and Energy Board and the Department; and state and federal laws rules and regulations for the receipt and control of mineral revenues. Additional duties include but are not limited to the following:
Appointment Type: This vacancy is being announced as a classified position and is open to all qualified applicants.This position requires the selected applicant to serve a minimum probationary period of twelve (12) months. A current permanent status state employee may be required to accept a probational appointment in lieu of promotion. Additional Vacancies may be filled from this announcement within 90 days of the closing date.
Career Progression:This position will be filled as an Auditor 1 2 or 3 depending on the level of experience of the selected applicant.
