Job Description
Ice Skating Instructor III
Starting Hourly Rate: $19.15
Instructs ice skating to children and adults following the Learn to Skate USA Basic Skills curriculum. Responsible for the implementation of structured class activities for group ice skating lessons. Will routinely act as a lead instructor guiding parents and skaters through first day orientation training new instructors and testing skaters on skill proficiency.
Required Qualifications:
- Must have demonstrated leadership ability during the previous season and have a good working knowledge of the program.
- Must be able to teach all levels of skating.
- Member of USFSA.
- Must obtain CPR/AED and First Aid certification within 30 days of employment. The City offers CPR/AED and First Aid classes which are free to Parks employees. Please note your certification must be from an organization that has been approved by the Bureau of Community and Health Systems Child Care Licensing Division. Please see link for list of approved organizations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Extensive background in figure skating or organized hockey programs.
- Minimum of two years on-ice teaching experience including one year with the City of Ann Arbor Instructional Skating Program.
