This is a fullbenefits full-time position with the Office of Administrative Hearings locatedat 11101Gilroy Road Hunt Valley MD 21031.The Fiscal Accounts Clerk Trainee is an entry level positionthat isresponsible for reviewing verifying recording adjusting and balancingfinancialtransactions. There is opportunity for growth within this position. The starting salary is $38683 annually.(State salary guidelines do apply for current state employees.)

Main Purpose of Job
The main purpose of this job is recording and processing of filing fees and assisting in various accounting functions. Major responsibilities include recording filing fees verifying accuracy of information preparing and transporting daily deposits aiding with processing of invoices reconciliation of fees coping and filing reports and various other accounting functions as needed. Researching discrepancies in totals and data entered by retrieving and examining records for miscalculations or posting errors. Contacting proper agencies/individuals when questions arise regarding data.
POSITION DUTIES
Some (but not all)duties include:
- Data entry of fees collected from appellants who are requesting a hearingwith our agency.
- Verification of the accuracy of inputted data and accuracy ofexceptions that generated by thesystem.
- Generates and distributes appropriate fee reports.
- Prepares bank deposits and transports to the bank in accordance withestablished securityprocedures.
- Assists in processing invoices reconciliation of fees inputtingrefund data and other accountingfunctions as needed.
- Performs various clerical duties as needed such as filing copyingetc.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Notes:
1. Experience calculating and recording financial statistical or other numerical data may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required high school education.
2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces militaryservice experience as a non-commissioned officer inFinancial Clerical/Financial Technicians classifications orFinancial Clerical/Finance Technician specialty codes in theFinancial field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred qualifications. Please includeclear and specific information on your application regarding this qualification:
- Three months experience in using computer programs for data entry
- Six months experience in accounting bookkeeping or financial transactions
LICENSES REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
Employees in this classification will be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle requiring the employee to possess a drivers license valid in the State of Maryland.
