Baler Operator Temp
Location: Port Townsend WA
Type: Non-Exempt - Temporary
Work Schedule: Full Time Day Shift
Compensation: $18.21-$18.21 per hour

Tessera is seeking a positive and hard-working Baler Operator with a can-do attitude. This is a temporary position and is expected to run up to but no longer than eight months.
Typical duties include but are not limited to:
- Responsible for the baling of all accepted recyclable materials.
- Responsible for completing all maintenance on the baler / baling shed.
- Responsible for following all safety policies and procedures at all times. Responsible for safety awareness at all times at the recycling center.
- Responsible for operating other equipment required to complete the assigned job and will be certified by Tessera.
- Responsible for filling out all necessary daily documentation.
- This is a physically demanding job that requires the employee to stand for long periods of time. The employee will also be required to do heavy lifting pushing and pulling of up to 100 pounds safely.
- Responsible for communicating with customers and co-workers in a courteous professional manner.
- Operates Bobcat and Skid Steer to move recyclable materials at facility.
Qualifications:
- Forklift certification preferred.
- The ability to interface with a broad spectrum of individuals in a variety of occupations to establish and maintain effective relationships with various state county and local public and private community-based organizations and departments.
- Experience operating Skid Steer required.
Physical Requirements:
Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance. The physical demands of this position may be reasonably accommodated for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions on a case-by-case basis.
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.
- May be required to reach kneel walk stand and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.
- Work may require repetitive motion reaching lifting kneeling and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time climbing in and out of a vehicle and up and down stairs may also be required.
- Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.
Requirements:
- A valid state drivers license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tesseras insurance.
- Access to a federal military installation requires a REAL ID-compliant drivers license or an acceptable alternative such as a U.S. passport or military ID in accordance with the REAL ID Act.
