Job Description
Who We Need & What Youll Do
The Live Broadcast Internship for AccuWeather will be supporting live broadcasts for the national award-winning AccuWeather Television Network on a daily and as-needed schedule. The Live Broadcast Intern will work with a team of producers on-air broadcasters and video editors to develop innovative and engaging content.
This entry-level Internship that will work at AccuWeathers Headquarters in State College Pennsylvania.

Internship Responsibilities
- Work with Senior Producers and Producers to deliver a unique style for the AccuWeather Television Network and ensure a cohesive cross-platform editorial voice.
- Participate with Senior Producers in all aspects of the daily show production process including development of rundowns researching segments story selection graphics generation and headline writing.
- Working knowledge of newsroom systems ie Ross Inception.
- Respond quickly to breaking news and weather situations contributing to the news teams coverage.
- Assist in researching and locating information for show guests.
- Assist Senior Producers on production of long-form programming.
- Exercise strong editorial judgment and adhere to companys standards and practices.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Entrepreneurial spirit with creative thinking is necessary in this role.
- Enrolled in an accredited institution and working towards BA or BS in journalism communications or meteorology from an accredited institution.
- Knowledge and some experience in broadcast-style writing.
- Must be a team player to work well with production staff and other departments.
- Working knowledge of Windows or Mac operating systems is required.
- Regular and predictable attendance is required for this role.
- Excellent written verbal and time management skills are necessary; communication is essential to success.
