Job Description
Green Top Farms was founded by a farmer-turned-public-school-teacher who was troubled by the lack of fresh nutritious foods for many New York families. For the last ten years we have built a high volume food service catering and delivery business. Throughout that time we have remained deeply involved in working to provide better food resources and education for school children food pantries and the broader community. We have also pursued our vision for a more sustainable and equitable food system. We spent the majority of our energies during the COVID Pandemic serving NYC City Agencies in the provision of food for the underserved as well as non-profit agencies throughout NYC.
Our mission is to build a more sustainable and equitable food system starting by reconnecting consumers and local farmers. The results of strengthening that connection are better nutrition more tasty food greater social justice and reduced environmental impacts. Our menus reflect this attention to bringing nutritious delicious food to those who need it most.
What Youll Do:
Within our Food Production Facility youll lead our dishwashing and porter team during the evening shift (3:00pm - 11:00pm) making sure the facility is clean safe and fully operational for the next day. Youll be a go-to team leader supporting people solving problems and keeping things moving and closing the facility for the night.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supervising a team of dishwashers and porters to maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards
- Delegating nightly cleaning and reset tasks using checklists to ensure accountability
- Troubleshooting and communicating issues responding quickly to operational needs (grease trap plumbing kitchen issues)
- Overseeing security and closing the facility safely
- Maintaining a positive and respectful team environment
Who You Are:
Youre someone who leads by example and takes pride in a clean organized space. You enjoy working on your feet solving problems and helping others succeed.
Wed love to hear from you if you:
- Have 2 years of experience supervising a team of porters dishwashers or facility staff
- Know how to keep a food production facility clean safe and running smoothly
- Are comfortable lifting 50 pounds and being on your feet
- Are detail-oriented a strong communicator and a proactive problem-solver
- Can assign tasks clearly and hold your team accountable
- Are vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19
- Bonus: speak a second language or know Fishbowl/manufacturing software

COVID-19 Considerations
All employees must be fully vaccinated and boosted. Masks are strongly encouraged and may be required in compliance with local guidelines.
Job Type: Full-time
Schedule: Monday through Friday open availability 2pm-11pm requires weekend flexibility
Pay: $24.00/hour
Reporting To: Plant Manager
