Full-Time Substitute Teacher -Northwest Middle School
Anticipated Start:August 2025
FLSA Status:Non-Exempt
As required by the Affordable Care Act this position is eligible for medical benefits only.
Starting wage:
$189.00/day: Teaching Certificate
$224.00/day: Long-Term Rate(effective after 20 consecutive days teaching in the same classroom)
Note:This position is full time. Selected candidate is expected to accept substitute teaching positions using the districts electronic notification system for each scheduled school day. If you elect to not substitute on a full time basis you run the risk of losing benefit eligibility. Selected candidates may be placed at a single school based on district needs.
Purpose Statement
The substitute teacher meets the educational needs of our students when the regular teacher is absent by following the assigned lesson plans managing classroom behavior and documenting important occurrences during the school day.
This position reports to the Principal or administrative designee.

Working Environment
The usual and customary methods of performing the jobs functions require the following physical demands: significant lifting up to 30 lbs. carrying pushing and/or pulling some climbing and balancing frequent stooping kneeling crouching and/or crawling and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 30% sitting 30% walking and 40% standing. This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment.
