Title: Medical Assistant Central Triage

Type: Local Travel Contract (13 Weeks Temp-to-Hire Potential)
Schedule: Day Shift 5x8-Hour (08:00 AM 04:30 PM) Monday Friday

We are seeking a Medical Assistant to support the Central Triage team. This is a local-only position ideal for a dependable MA with prior experience in an outpatient or triage-based setting. The MA will support call triage appointment coordination and provider support functions while working primarily over phone and Epic workflows. WA MA license (MA-R or MA-C) and prior Epic experience are required. Clear professional communication skills are a must.
Responsibilities:Answer and triage inbound calls from patients pharmacies and care teams
Assist in prescription refills authorizations and coordinating patient messages and provider follow-up
Use Epic to review patient charts document interactions and support clinical workflows
Perform intake functions including history allergies and medications documentation as needed
Support centralized scheduling and follow-up coordination
Handle insurance verification and authorization documentation as applicable
Conduct follow-up calls and patient outreach related to care plans or visit prep
Float across departments as needed within scope
Experience:
Minimum 6 months of experience in a healthcare setting
Familiarity with Epic and medical terminology required
Prior experience in centralized triage internal medicine or family practice preferred
Certifications Required:
BLS (AHA) Required
WA MA license (MA-R or MA-C) Must be active at time of submission
CMA or RMA Preferred
Charting System: Epic Required
First-Time Travelers: Accepted (locals only)

Floating: As needed within skillset
Block Scheduling: Not accommodated

Local Requirement: Locals only (within 50 miles)
Reliable Transportation: Required public transportation not acceptable
Interview Process: 3 interview time slots must be provided at submission no-show results in disqualification across entire health system
Education:
Completion of accredited Medical Assistant program preferred
Must meet WA state requirements for MA licensing
Experience:
At least 6 months of experience in an outpatient or healthcare-related administrative role
Triage family/internal medicine or multispecialty experience preferred
License & Certifications:
WA State MA-R or MA-C license Required
BLS (AHA) Required
CMA or RMA Preferred
