Role: Program Manager (Department of Transportation)
Location: Austin TX (Hybrid and need local to AustinTX)
Duration: 12 Months
Must have: Program Manager with 8 years of State Government and Department of Transportation experience
Summary:
Program Manager to support their Transportation Programs Division. They are seeking candidates with experience supporting state gov and transportation projects and programs. The Program Manager would act as the central point of contact for cross-functional stakeholders facilitating consistent communication and collaboration across departments.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Oversees project lifecycles across platforms such as the client (Transportation) and Engineering Desktop.
- Develop integrated program schedules and resolve delivery risks.
Minimum Candidate Characteristics:
- 8 years of experience supporting state and transportation software development projects.
Exceptional Candidate Characteristics:
- Technologies such as PeopleSoft.
- Experience with complex system architectures.
- Experienced in Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes.
Responsibilities:
Support Transportation Programs would be responsible for a wide range of critical functions to ensure successful planning execution and delivery of technology initiatives. Typical work would include overseeing project lifecycles across platforms and Engineering Desktop managing vendor relationships coordinating software development teams and facilitating smooth operations support. Develop and maintain integrated program schedules track progress against milestones and proactively identify and resolve delivery addition provide leadership in budgeting and resource allocation ensuring teams stay aligned with performance goals and fiscal targets. The Program Manager would act as the central point of contact for cross-functional stakeholders facilitating consistent communication and collaboration across departments. By driving process improvements and standardizing workflows they would enhance overall efficiency and accountability throughout Transportation Programs Support.
Required Skills:
- 8 Yrs of Experience in Information Technology
- 8 Yrs of Experience as an IT Consultant providing project and program management and IV&V services
- 8 Yrs of Experience in software development project management in state government
- 8 Yrs of Experience as Project Manager for a transportation organization.
Preferred Skills:
- Overseen development of software on multiple platforms
- Managed teams of managers programmers and analysts
- Technologies used: Peoplesoft
- Led configuration management and quality assurance efforts
- Developed strategic modernization plans
- Extensive experience with complex system architectures
- Software Testing Advisement
- Reviewed development deliverables
- Recommended improvements for Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes
